DIY Swimsuit cover up!

The other day Michaels (of course) was having a sale on t-shirts. Two for 6 dollars. Who could resist that? Not me, obviously. I bought a pink one for myself and a black one for Alex. And no, I am not making a swim suit cover up for him, his was just for him to wear. Anyways, I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with it but then it hit me! I would make a swim suit cover up! Yay for thinking creatively! :) Anyways, I am in a sewing class in school right now and let me tell you, it's driving me crazy. So I decided I was not going to sew this. I googled ways to tie a t-shirt and this is what I got out of it.

What you need:
A t-shirt (bigger then what you normally wear)
Scissors
Ribbon

Start with a plain t-shirt that would normally be to big for you

Cut off the sleeves like so

Cut the sides down the middle

Then cut the strips. I cut them about 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long

Tie them all together.

I thought this was a little to plain so I headed on over and got a better idea here.

So I cut some more of the sleeves, neckline and back off.

The front of the finished product

The back with the bow.

It may not be perfect but it is my first little clothing DIY and I am pretty darn proud of it. Thanks for reading! I hope you are having a fantastic week!

I thought about cutting down the middle of the back and tying a ribbon like you did.
