What No One Tells You

When I told people I was getting/got a puppy a lot of them laughed at me and I really had no idea why. How hard can raising a puppy be? I mean I did it before.... Okay, that's a lie. I bought a puppy five years ago and played with him and snuggled him while my parents did all the hard work. But who was to say that wasn't how it would be this time? Even though I don't live with my parents.. The dog could raise himself, right? And just be my cuddle buddy? Uh wrong. So from the perspective of my new pup here is what I have learned...
All of those noises that I have ignored outside are just super scary and are reason for not going to the bathroom outside... I mean really, that wind chime that just made a noise is probably the scariest thing ever...

And if it's below 30 degrees you can count out going outside. It is just way too cold to go out there for a whole 30 seconds just to go to the bathroom..duh

Once we have decided it is totally safe to go outside, those leaves that are blowing around and those little prickly ball things are the best things to eat...really though, have you tried them?

After going to the bathroom outside running inside at full sprint is the only way to go inside.. We can't be out there in case something makes a scary noise like a squirrel running up the tree or someone starting their car..
All of those toys that were bought to play with are nothing compared to that water bottle sitting on the table.. it just makes the best noises

Also, another toy that is better than anything else? Mom's ponytail..

Three a.m. is a perfectly acceptable time to wake up while in bed and think it's time to play.. we did just nap for four hours

Six a.m. also really does exist .. every morning... so does 6:30 and 7... after that it's just time to be up for the day

That sounds a lot like I'm complaining. And as hard as it already is to raise a puppy, there are so many wonderful things that come along with it..

Like watching him quickly master the stairs. We brought him home exactly a week ago and I don't think he had ever been on stairs. He didn't know how to go up or down them. In the past week though he has totally mastered them. He sprints up and down them on his own and takes two at a time while going up them. By the time he's full grown he'll probably just have to jump once...

Or the fact that when he is in a playful mood, as exhausting as it can be, it's so fun. He is learning quickly how to play fetch and when he runs around like a mad man it is so funny. Also, watching him be entertained by just chasing his tail is hilarious.
Or when he is done playing and just in a cuddle mood. Those are the best moods. He snuggles right up next to me or totally on my lap and it is seriously so relaxing. He gets in the cutest cuddle moods and has to be right next to me.

Watching him and Nick together is so adorable. I love seeing them together. How much Luke loves Nick already is so obvious and it just melts my heart.
So yes, I have already realized how hard raising a puppy already is, but I have also realized how rewarding it can be. He's the sweetest dog you will ever meet and the craziest at the same time and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Best. Weekend. Ever.

This weekend had to be the best weekend ever. This weekend I welcomed a little guy into my life. His name is Luke and he couldn't be more perfect. Seriously, I'm in love. I told you last week that Nick and I were looking for a puppy and Friday night we found one. His name was originally Rosco, however I didn't think it fit him so we changed it to Luke and I think it's perfect. If you have me on Instagram then you've obviously seen 242314 pictures of him already, and if you don't have me you should totally follow me so you can see 242314 pictures of him. The people we got him from told us he is full pit but I think he is mixed. I feel like he has some great dane in him and maybe some boxer as well. Which obviously means he's going to be hugeeeee. And the fact that he thinks he is a lap dog right now will not bode well in the future. He's already so much stronger than I am.. maybe I should hit the gym.... Ha
He found the mirror Friday when we got home. I feel as if he has never seen himself before and is just now discovering how freaking cute he is.

This is how he has to climb up the stairs. He refuses to go the correct way. Little does he know that in like a month he won't be able to go through this way
Sunday was a super long day. We went to my Aunt and Uncles and ran around for awhile then went to my parents where he tried to play with the two dogs there.
And this was last night before the Grammy's. We had an entire day just the two of us and after we got home he was so tired he just wanted to sleep. But I wanted to take pictures of him. After like the 3414321 picture he gave me this "okay Mom you can stop now" look. But I didn't listen...

He is so friendly and sweet.. most of the time. He has that puppy want to bite going on right now but I feel like that will go away with time and once he's done teething. He is super cuddly when he is tired and I just loveeee it. Believe me when I say that there will be sooo many pictures/updates on him!

To Wordpress or Not to Wordpress...

So I had a whole semi post written out about how much I hate the radio and then couldn't think of anything to write past the first paragraph so I gave up because obviously that's how I roll. So instead I'm just going to tell you about how my classes/this semester is going so far. Only two weeks into it and I already want to drop out.

And there's that. My entire last two weeks summed up in one sentence. So what else to write about on this here blog?

Well, I have discovered a wonderful app for backgrounds on my phone called Cuptakes which has so many awesomely glittery backgrounds. So naturally I added all of them to my phone. Then I became more obsessed than necessary in finding cute backgrounds so I googled/looked up on Pinterest some backgrounds and came across a lovely blog with awesome backgrounds which you can check out here. I think I put every single one on my phone that looked good. And then also changed my background on my computer to one of her awesome backgrounds (the "Everyday I'm hustlin'" one, for obvious reasons).

Seriously, how much cuter can it get?

And this may or may not be my photo roll on my phone right now... I know, obsessed...

Another note on my life in the past week. Nick and I decided to look for a puppy. Umm eeeekkkkkk!! I've been wanting one for awhile and he finally decided it was time. So we are going to look at shelters this weekend. We have been constantly checking puppy pages on Facebook too but part of me really wants to adopt one from a shelter. So hopefully there are updates on that next week! If only he would okay one like this..
Also, do not look up puppy on Pinterest because it will fill your screen with the cutest things you have ever seen and it will make you want to leave work immediately and just go find all of these adorable creatures and take them home.

If you don't follow me on Instagram (which you should) I posted a picture of a flower pot I painted at work the other day. It turned out super cute, but I a may be a little biased.
It was also super easy to do, I just dripped the paint down the sides using the big bottles it comes it and let it sit there over night turned upside down. I should have taken a picture of the bottom which looks super cool just because it's tyedyed from all the paint being on it at once.

My last little blurb for the day is that I am going to be making the switch from Blogger to Wordpress and I am slightly, okay extremely, freaked out. I have a class that requires you to make a blog and I am allowed to use this one. However, it is preferred that it is on Wordpress and since I've been going back and forth in my head on whether or not to do this I guess this is the push I needed. If anyone has any tips on what to do, please feel free to send them my way!

I'm Obsessed..

Alright so yesterday as I was getting ready to leave work I decided I was going to clean up some of the clutter that had accumulated around my desk. My work space is small so it can get pretty overwhelming when it comes to clutter pretty fast. As I was cleaning my little area of the office, I noticed that I had pretty much only one thing that piles up faster than the fast food receipts I have in my car. Post-its. I'm not joking. I use them for everything. I write any thought or anything I have to do on them. I write one word or five sentences on them. It really doesn't matter. I've been here since September and have probably gone through at least three packs of them. It's a problem, I know. I mean just look:

They're on my desk, in my desk, on the cabinets above my head. They use to be all over my computer as well until the boyfriend started to take them off when he would use it. Instead I use the little digital post-its on the mac. I don't even know what it is that makes me love them so much. But it's like ridiculous. So, I cleaned all of the ones I don't need up, put the ones I do need neatly in order in my desk and went on my way. However, I can guarantee you that by this time next week, I will have at least 20 more that have been added to my collection. Whatevs.

Dear Diary..

Dear Diary,

It's been awhile since my face has been seen around here and for that I apologize. I just got so caught up in the holidays and being off from school for an entire month that I just neglected you and that was wrong. So I am here to fill you in on everything that has happened in my life in the last month. Actually, if we're being completely honest, I haven't been up to that much.

Right after classes were over I was just minding my own business and decided to pick up our mail on my way home. As I was driving away from our mailbox, I noticed I had left the key in the door with it hanging wide open. So I backed up in order to get said key. As I was backing up this happened...

Whatever. The next exciting thing to happen in the last month was that Nick and I ventured up to his parents for a week to celebrate Christmas. We went to at least five different Christmas's while up there. It was a whirlwind of a week to say the least.

While up there, we went to the horse track because those horses don't care how cold it is. They will run so that people can go bet their money away. Which I did not do. I sat and watched the Bears get killed that night. Anyways, this is how they run their horses up there...

Then on Christmas day I headed home to spend it with my family where I stuffed my face with more food than I should have (who am I kidding, that happened all break) and opened more presents.

Oh, and spent it with the cutest little children ever. I mean really, have you ever seen a cuter Santa?

Then it was New Years Eve, which was spent in a relaxing way just the way I like it. We went over to our friends house and just sat around and played games and talked until about 2 am. It was lovely not waking up with a hangover.

Oh and then it snowed. A lot. Like way more than it ever has. I'm not joking. Would you like to hear a story? I'll tell it to you anyways. Sunday it snowed like over a foot here. So Monday I obviously needed to go out in it to get some things from Wal-mart. As I was pulling out of my drive way I got stuck. Okay, no big deal I'll just try to get myself out. Nope not happening. Let me just point out to you that I was trying to shovel myself out with an ice scraper because we don't have a shovel. Anyways, after that didn't work my neighbor came out to help me. Nick was in the shower this whole time. After shoveling around my tires my neighbor told me to get in and try to drive. That would have worked had I not locked my keys in my running car that was stuck more than halfway out of my drive way in the road. So for 45 minutes I was stuck outside in the cold because I had locked my door on my way out and Nick couldn't hear me pounding on the door since he was upstairs. Oh and my phone was also locked in my car. So I called my father who was 40 minutes away because the police and the locksmith would not come unlock my car. In the meantime Nick finally answered the door to me balling because I was so mad at myself and I was freezing. After an hour and a half my dad finally made it to unlock my car. After unlocking it we noticed it had over heated and died. Cool. When popping the hood up, he also noticed that 343554532 things were broken or wrong with it. Also super cool. So we had to have a tow truck take it somewhere to be fixed. None of it was broken because I got stuck, it all just happened to happen at the same time.

This was the day before the nonsense happened.
Oh! And then on Thursday night I did the same thing! Yepp, locked my keys in my running, stuck in the road/driveway car. Thankfully we had a spare this time. And thankfully my so strong boyfriend was able to shovel/push my car out. I think I'm over the snow...

So diary, that is how my last month has gone. I am sorry I did not update you daily on all of these exciting adventures. However, between 6 classes and 2 jobs, I'm going to try and update at least once a week but we will see how that goes....
