Just Sitting Here Dreading School...

Tomorrow is the last day in July. I don't know if you realize how depressed this makes me. This means only two and a half weeks until school starts. Yes, this is my senior year. And yes this is the last time I will be dreading starting school but still that doesn't make it any less sad. Also, yes I have been in classes all summer. But it was only two. And they were online. So they didn't even count. Remember those days when we were little and excited to go to school? Yeah, me either. Joking. There was probably a time or two I was excited but I think that excitement left the building in about 4th grade when I realized I would rather be napping than sitting there learning about things I don't even remember learning.

Yepp. So let's just take a stroll down memory lane. Without pictures of me from when I was young because well, I'm at work and don't have any sooo yeah. But here's everything that reminds me of those times where I just wished I was an adult making money. That's still now, but at least I'm only 9 months away from it and not 21 years away.

Gradeschool:
These were the days. No real worries, no real homework. Just writing your name 1564561378612 times in cursive that you'll never do again but whatever.

Recess was like the best part of the day. Unless it was hot. Or cold. Then all I wanted to do was sit inside and color. We use to chase the boys around the playground until they got so sick of it they just gave in to us. One time in first grade me and a few of my friends "married" this one boy. Yepp, all four of us. Totally legit too. Until we decided we liked other boys too. Then we married them. I think this went on for a few years. I probably have at least 7 husbands, and those husbands probably have at least 12 wives. But whatev. We also use to bring our boombox and play it outside. And sing to it. And dance. Like we were the Spice Girls. Not lieing, this use to happen. Even in the classroom. Yes, the teacher use to let me and my friends perform in front of the students. This makes me embarrassed even typing it. Why are little kids so weird?
Getting my school supply list was probably the best part of August. I would make my mom go to Wal-Mart the day those things came out and make me buy all the coolest stuff in the store for it. I mean you weren't cool unless you had the Five-Star notebooks and the flashiest little binder or folders. And you really weren't cool if you had regular old pencils. Mechanical pencils were the way to go.
Show and tell. When I was a baby my cousin took me to her show and tell so obviously I was meant for show and tell stardom. So when my little sister was born what did I do? That's right, took her to show and tell too. I don't remember what else I brought but I'm sure it was something super awesome like the newest Pokeman card or a cool picture of a ghost that I took when I went to a haunted hotel in Texas.
So I was also the coolest birthday person ever. I know, I'm bragging a lot. But seriously. When it was my turn to bring in treats for my birthday I didn't just bring in cookies or cupcakes. Nope, my mom brought in pizza for everyone. Let that sink in for a moment. I. Brought. Pizza. And then my friends would be jealous and hate me for a few weeks but they eventually got over it because they got pizza. This stopped in like the 5th grade because at some point someone decided you could only bring in unopened packages of snacks. Losers.
And then oh the days of red rover. I hated this game. Probably because I wasn't strong enough to ever break through the people's arms. Or maybe it was the fact that one time while we were playing it on the blacktop I went to run in between the two biggest boys in my grade and instead of being gentlemen they held tight. They were also taller than me. So this meant when I hit their arms I got clothes lined and and fell back, hard, giving myself a concussion. I stopped playing that game after that.

Junior High:
Ohh the lovely awkward three years of school. My school started junior high in sixth grade and ended in eighth grade. These were the years. That awkward first kiss, dating an eighth grader while I was in sixth grade, dating a highschooler while I was in eighth grade, passing notes back and forth between my friends, having lockers, oh and getting my first cell phone. I'm leaving out the parts like getting pimples, not being able to wear/apply make up properly, girls being the worst things in the entire world because they were so hateful, and the teachers never understanding just what you were going through.

Um hello aim. And hello the days of making awful screen names. Like BeccaGRules91. And the countless hours I spent typing away to all of my friends. I actually had AIM and MSN but switched to just MSN after awhile because it was all so much to keep track of. You know since I was so busy in junior high. I seriously would stay up as late as possible talking to people on this thing though. We had one main computer in our kitchen and around 10 pm my dad would always make me get off. And I would always try to sneak back out a few hours later to talk to people. Like anyone was actually on at 1 in the morning..
And then there was the awesome choreographed cheerleading dances. This was the same group of friends that I would sing and dance with in grade school. So obviously we thought we were seriously awesome since we had legit dances. We would break out those moves at all the little junior high dances we had. We probably looked like idiots.

And then there was highschool where everyone and their dog thought they were the coolest. Newsflash, we went to a small town school where everyone knew everyone and we were most deff. not the coolest.
This was me in gym. When all the guys decided it was like the freaking Olympics or something. Like really, it's gym class. STFU.
This was also me in gym. I did anything I could to get out of having to participate. Like I just said, it's gym class in high school. Do I really need to show you how slow I run the mile or how many push ups I can't do?
The lunch table. And the dreaded stare you got when you weren't welcome. Then you find a group of people who you decided to sit with. And when someone else thinks it's okay to sit at your table and you're all like "uhhh no". Or when you've been going up to a teacher's room for two years every day at lunch and then you get a new principle and he's a huge douche rocket and decides that you're leaving other students out because the entire high school can't fit into that classroom (like the entire high school wanted to sit with us anyways) and he takes your privileges away. Not that I'm bitter or anything...
Oh and then there was the school lunches. I mean yeah that cardboard pizza was legit, or the mysterious fish nuggets were amazing. The best part was having friends who wrestled. It always seemed like the had chicken nugget day when the boys were cutting weight so naturally I would eat as many as possible right in front of them.

And even though I said I wasn't going to, here are some old school pictures I was able to find on Facebook.
Good thing my friends don't actually read this thing. I'm pretty sure they might kill me.
And because the one thing I miss about high school is getting dressed up and going to prom, here are all four years of prom pictures.

It's All About Tonight

Hello. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty relaxing. I went to the Jana Kramer/Easton Corbin/Blake Shelton concert Friday, relaxed with family and went to the horse tracks on Saturday, went to Nick's softball games and just relaxed some more with family on Sunday. And now it's Monday. And I'm ready to be off work. 3 more hours, just 3 more hours.

Jana Kramer was signing autographs at the concert. This seriously made my week. I love her and her music. Ever since she was on One Tree Hill (which is my favorite show ever, in case you didn't know) I have thought she was awesome. So about this time last year she came to Wild Country (the bar I tell you about sometimes). She was performing there, and it was free for college students to get in. At the time I didn't go there so I had asked the kid I was dating if we could go. He didn't want to. So guess who sat at home (and pouted, most likely) that night. Had I gone there I would have gotten to meet her and take pictures with her and talk to her. But getting her autograph and speaking to her for 2.2 seconds at the concert Friday was better than nothing.

Blake Shelton put on one of the best concerts I've ever been to. He just kept singing and singing and this man is hilarious. He sang a mixture of old/new songs and I was entertained the entire time. Part of that might be due to the fact that my friend was slightly intoxicated, left her phone in the bathroom, recovered her phone at customer service, and thanked the lady for a good 5 minutes by telling her she loved her. But Blake was entertaining too. I took plenty of videos. It's a habit I have while I'm at concerts. But no one ever gets to see them. Unless you all would prefer to hear mainly my lovely singing voice instead of Blake's. Yeah, I didn't think so. I may or may not have tweeted the man as well.

Why he never responded to me, I have no idea.

Ethan also decided he was going to play doctor on everyone again this weekend. That is, until he got a new rocket launcher. Then it was goodbye everything around him, hello everyone has to watch him shoot this thing up in the air twenty thousand million times. His giggles every time made sitting there watching him worth it though. And holding his little baby brother Aiden wasn't so bad either.

Now back to work. Or reading The Hunger Games. I just started on the second one, never read the first one, last week and I got through it in two days. So I'm on the third one. It's taking a little longer to get into it but it's still good. I know, I'm a little late. Like years late, but oh well.

Hi. It's Been Awhile. I Apologize.

Hi. Wow. I've been gone for like ages in the blog world. It's been over 20 days. I apologize. I just haven't been in that "mood" to blog lately. I guess you can say I've been in a sort of funk. I still have sooo many pictures of alligators to post from our trip to Florida. I took way too many, which I'm not ashamed of. So I've been up to a lot it feels like. I haven't gotten pictures of everything but it feels like I've been way busy lately.

For example:

My little cousin was born July 11. Which means Ethan has a little baby brother. He is seriously one of the cutest baby's I've ever seen. Okay, so I might be a little bias, but I mean really, look at him. And Ethan is the best big brother ever. He is so in love with him, it's adorable.

My friend Adam had his 8th fight. He won, obviously. I mean I did teach him everything he knows, so he's going to win every time. He has the best group of supporters between our friends and his friends and family. I love going and watching him because every time he wins it's a great feeling (since I'm the coach and all). I also get so unbelievably nervous every time he fights. Like that entire day I cannot handle it and the entire time I'm watching all the other fights I cannot handle it. But then he gets in the ring and just wins and makes it look so easy that I wonder why I got so nervous in the first place.

Nick had a softball tournament recently as well. It wasn't for his actual tournament team, but a few guys from the team were on it. They did pretty well in this tournament, and every time I go watch I like it more and more. I find myself getting excited for when he has tournaments or games which normally would have never happened but I think it helps that all the people on his team are awesome and a lot of fun to be around.

My friend Kaylee had her little baby on July 22. So did Kate Middleton, in case you weren't aware of it. So obviously Paisley and Prince George are meant to be together. She's adorable and I couldn't be happier for Kaylee and Pat. I've known Kaylee for about 6 years now and I know she is going to be the greatest
Dip is on the right, Chip is on the left
Nick and I also got two fish from a carnival. We played that fish game so many times. We didn't even win them, the guy running the game just felt sorry for us. We named them Chip and Dip (the softball team's mascots). Unfortunately, we were not able to keep Dip alive for more than three days. Apparently we overfed them. We may have fed them three times in one day. I guess you aren't suppose to do that with fish. But Chip is still alive. He wants another friend though, I can tell. Now it's just getting Nick to go with me to pick out a new one.

So that's that in my world. What about yours? I haven't even been keeping up with the main blogs I follow, so fill me in on your life please!

Happy Birthday Merica

I actually never say that word. It's always America. So I'm not quite sure why Merica is in my title. Whatever, it's the Fourth of July and we can do what we want. I hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful Fourth!
A little throw back for your viewing pleasure

And I Ramble

So I am currently in Florida right now which means this post was a scheduled post that I wrote before I left. Let me tell you, huge accomplishment right there. I never plan post in advanced. But here I am, writing one before I leave. Go me. Anyways, I would just like to catch you all up on the celebrity world once again because all I do all day at work is sit and read about their lives as if I have nothing better to do (like homework).

Breaking Amish star Kate Stolzfus posed like this for Maxim.com. Is it just me or did she really break Amish by doing this?

Kevin Bacon's lady lost the tip of her finger to some kale this weekend. Or to a knife while cutting kale .. would have been cooler if it was bacon...

JSimps had her baby the other day. She named it Ace Knute. It means masculine. Don't worry, it's actually a boy this time. When I told my mom she had her baby her response was "is she pregnant yet?"

Avril and Chad got married. But then didn't get married. But no one really seems to know. Sooo there's that.

Oh and one more thing. Guess who gets to go to this concert. If you guessed me you are so RIGHT! Happy early early birthday to me from my mother .. slightly early but hey I am so excited it doesn't even matter! Now to go brush up on my dance moves .. only 5 months to work on them.

A Manly Basket

So Saturday was Nick's birthday. I had no idea what I was going to get him because guys are seriously the hardest to buy for. So naturally I was browsing Pinterest when the idea of a man basket came across. Then I had the dilemma of what to put into this "man basket".

I decided that I was going to go with some Cubs and Blackhawks shirts (his favorite teams), some of his favorite candy, a few giftcards to places he likes, and his favorite drinks.

After putting a bunch of shredded paper in the bottom I just started filling it up. I found the cutest little baby bottles of beer which is like 3 drinks for him but they were seriously so cute I couldn't resist. He seemed to like it and it was a fun gift to put together. So just remember if you are having problems deciding what to get your guy, this "man basket" is a go-to gift!

A Shrimp Boil in Illinois

So this weekend my cousin who lives in Savannah came to visit us. He use to live here in Illinois but then got an awesome job in Georgia and has lived there for a few years. He's like an older brother to me so I was pretty excited that he came to visit for a few days. Him and his girlfriend drove up and before they left they stopped and got 20 lbs of fresh shrimp so that we could have a shrimp boil. They did it Saturday and Sunday but I was only there for Sunday's boil. And let me tell you, it was amazing. And spicy. Sooo so spicy. And according to him it was "the blandest he has ever had it". Wrong, my nose was running and my mouth is still on fire today.

After we got done eating and playing endless amounts of Nerts (seriously you should all learn this game) we headed out to the parade. The town we were in had their homecoming this weekend and their parade was Sunday evening followed by fireworks when it got dark. I was so stoked because this time I had Ethan with me which meant more candy for us. And let me tell you, this parade did not disappoint. I didn't get a picture of his bucket but it was overflowing with candy and gummies and little fish crackers and beads and all sorts of things. And the bag I brought was pretty full too. Granted, half the stuff in it was wrappers from me eating the candy as the parade went on, but whatev.

This puppy was sooooo stinkin cute!
I just wanted to go cuddle with it the entire time!

About five minutes after the parade was over this guy walked by
He fell a little behind...

The fireworks were amazing like always. They set them off in the field right next to my aunt and uncles house. Like they don't let anyone go down our road because it's so close to the field. But we get a front row seat right in our drive way every year. This has been going on since I can remember. It's so close that last year ashes fell into the pool. It was a great way to end the weekend.
