The Past 21 Days Through My iPhone

Yesterday I filled you in on why I've been missing for the past 21 days. In those 21 days a lot has changed/happened. I have also been trying to keep myself busy other than going to work and class in order to keep my mind off of all the stressfulness that comes along with trying to find a new place that will allow a 70 pound puppy. So here's what I've been up to in the past 21 days, as seen from the iPhone camera.
I went to two different Cardinals games because Cardinals, duh. The first one was a day game and they lost so that sucked, but we got some cool jerseys even though mine went straight to my Dad since they were only handing out one size. Oh, and you had to be 16+ in order to get the jersey so when I walked in and stuck out my hand to take one of course the guy said "uh how old are you". Really? -_- Anyways, the second game was a night game and it was Star Wars theme night. I've never seen the movies but Ben and Ethan love them so they really enjoyed all of that. Ethan even got to meet Darth Vader which he thought was the coolest thing ever. Going to a game with him was seriously so fun. We had a yelling competition, he decided that my favorite player is also his favorite player (Matt Carpenter), and his favorite thing to say when someone got a hit was "Yeah baby!". Adorable.
I jumped on that #Shareacoke bandwagon and found my name and Nick's name. It's super rare that I find just Becca and not Rebecca so obviously I had to get it. I tried telling Nick these were not for drinking but his ended up gone that night. Mine is still sitting on the counter because I refuse to let him drink it.

The 14th was Amy's birthday and we went to Texas Roadhouse as a family because Carrie gets a 30% discount so where else would we go? Amy really enjoyed getting on the saddle thing and having our server yell her name and her birthday for everyone in the place to hear. Our server was one of Carrie's friends and one of the guys who lived on my floor freshman year so he made sure to make Amy extra embarrassed. It was cute.
My cousin Amber and her husband Brandon moved back to the STL after being in Chicago for the past four years so I headed over there to see their new place. It's amazing. It's a super awesome apartment in downtown and you can see Busch from their patio. Seriously, I'm extremely jealous. But when you're a doctor and have worked your butt off for the past million years in school I guess you can afford that kind of stuff. We went over and ate at Bailey's Range Burgers and Shakes and it was amazing. It's all homemade, even their ketchup and cheese sauce. I got the mac n cheese burger and I want to go back right now while I'm writing this to eat one. Their cheese sauce was to die for as well. If you're ever in St. Louis, I highly recommend checking them out.
Sunday we had family come in that I had never met which is really surprising. But these were my Mom's cousins and they live in different states so it's kind of hard to meet some of them. It was fun though because we all just relaxed by the pool and hung out and ate more than I should have ever eaten in one day. But that's what happens when my family gets together. We eat. A lot. This is also the only picture I got and because Ethan loves me so much he made the cutest face for the camera.

So other than moving and figuring out life itself, that is what I've been up to. Hopefully now that things are beginning to settle down I'll be around these parts more often. My classes end August 6th and I will be starting my internship sometime in August. And then hopefully finding an actual job where I make big girl money and can afford things other than mac n cheese and cereal. Joking, kind of.

I'm Still Here

Last time I talked to you I had just left Luke for what was suppose to be a month until Nick and I found a new place. But Luke had other ideas. He decided after about two weeks that he had had enough and it was time to come home. Nick had left that Saturday with his family to go to Florida, including his Aunt who we had left Luke with. So after she left he started being a brat and by that Wednesday night I was told it was time to take the drive up to Chicago to get him. So Thursday morning I woke up early and drove 8 hours there and back to bring the little brat home with me. To say he was happy to see me is an understatement. He did the little cry that dogs do when they are excited to see someone and even though I was frustrated that I had to go up and get him, it made my heart melt with how happy he was to see me.

He hadn't been eating well while he was up there and when I got him home he was doing the same thing. He would barely eat and his poop was awful. I'll spare you the lovely details of all that, but it was the worst I've ever seen it. The next morning we got back in the car and drove to meet Nick and his family a little over an hour away. When we got home we tried to feed Luke and he still wasn't having any of it. So for the first few days after he was home, this is how we fed him. He is such a spoiled brat.
Monday we found out that our new place was hopefully going to be move in ready by Friday, which was a super nice relief because we were once again hiding Luke at our old place. He has started eating like his normal self, and drinking like his normal self as well. Which means spilling food everywhere and putting water into his mouth and just letting it drip all over the place. When we got the okay on Friday that we could move into our new apartment we were so excited. So Luke got to go spend Saturday at Grandma and Grandpa's while Nick and I moved our entire place by ourselves. We rented a two bedroom house U-haul and couldn't even fit our two bedroom apartment into it. But we did a pretty good job of getting almost everything packed away in it. I couldn't even walk the next day I was so worn out and sore from moving everything.
Luke had to get every toy out at Grandma and Grandpa's but because Grandpa had taken him to the lake that day he was too tired to play with any of them. When Luke finally made it to our new apartment he had no idea what was going on. All of his stuff and all of our smells were in the new place but it wasn't his old home. He inspected everything, at least three times each, and finally decided that he approved of the new place. It's all hardwood floors so he's having a difficult time adjusting to running and trying to stop but it makes for a hilarious time for me.
We just have a few things left at our old place and I still have to clean it all, but we are pretty much all settled into the new apartment. The best part is that Luke is allowed there. Coming in a close second is the fact that this place is brand new, with all new appliances and a washer and dryer. I think I've already done like 10 loads since we moved in on Saturday. I can't wait to start decorating it. I had to pick out a shower curtain because our last place had a door for the shower and picking that out was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. But it made me want to totally decorate the bathroom and every room in the apartment. Hopefully I can actually do that and post pictures instead of saying I'll do it and never doing it so never having any pictures to post on here. Hashtag fail.

So that is where we are at on the home front. We have a new place. No Internet or TV. But we have a place that Luke is allowed to be. Seriously, he is so spoiled. We just totally up and moved into a new place just for him. I hope he appreciates it. :).

I'm Actually 80

Today is Monday. Again. I act like I'm surprised that it's back, like I don't know when it's coming or something. However, so far this Monday has been 32432432 times better than last Monday so I guess I can't complain. Except that I'm about to fall asleep while typing this and I still have a three hour class to attend. On ethics in the media. Which really means I'm being taught by a philosophy teacher who loves Kant and Mill but has no idea who Kate Middleton or Justin Bieber are. So in other words I'm learning nothing about ethics in the media, which would actually be interesting.

While I was sitting here trying to come up with the most fantastic idea for a post ever, I found myself really just wanting to go home and go back to bed. Because Luke decided to get up at 3:30 and go outside. Twice. And the second time we were out walking around some kids walked by and said "Hey sexy". Yeah, that happened. So while I was thinking about just crawling up under my desk and going to sleep, I decided to tell you why I'm actually an 80 year-old woman, not a 22 year-old college senior.

-If it were up to me you would find me cuddled up with Luke watching Gossip Girl reruns on any given Friday or Saturday. So maybe an 80 year-old wouldn't watch Gossip Girl but like an 80 year-old, I would rather stay in and cuddle instead of going out. Lame.

We wouldn't be watching Sports Center or whatever that show is though.

-My bedtime is seriously between 10:00 and 10:30 every night. It doesn't matter what night it is, once 10:00 rolls around my body starts to shut down. And if I have to stay up any later than that you can guarantee that I'm one super crabby person.

-I forget everything. I forget my assignments in class, I forget assignments at work, I forget what Nick told me ten minutes ago. He thinks I just don't listen to him, but I just forget anything and everything. I had to write this post idea in my notes on my phone so that when I got back to work in 10 minutes I wouldn't have forgotten it. Serious.

-Walking up the stairs makes me tired. This may be more because I'm out of shape and really need to start working out, but I can't walk up the stairs without getting super tired.

-If we do go out with friends I'll have one drink, maybe two, and that's it. Because I'll start to feel it after one and if I venture into drinking two I'll feel it the next morning too. Seriously, what 22 year-old can't handle just two drinks. Me, that's who.
One and I'm done.

-I'm a crazy dog lady. Sometimes I like to think I would have a million dogs if I could but then I think how do you split your time and attention between multiple dogs when I feel like Luke requires all of my attention at all times. But really, I prefer to hang out with my dog more than people. Which, when I think about it, isn't really a problem.

-If I could, I would take a nap, or 4, every day. I use to do this in high school but then school and work got in the way and summer break got taken away from me so it doesn't get to happen. I just get to day dream about it every day all day.

-I have to have my coffee and toast every morning. And sometimes cereal. Coca-puffs, so maybe I'm like 5 and 80 and 22 all at the same time. Who knows. But if I don't have my coffee and something to eat with it I can't start my day.

So after writing all of those I just realized I'm extremely lame. But I wouldn't want to be any other way. I like going to bed early and getting a bunch of sleep. I also really enjoy not being hungover any more. And my favorite thing to do is hang out with Luke, even if he does drive me insane 3/4 of the time.

My Newest Obsession

First, these are all my own opinions.
Second, that's because this isn't an ad or a sponsored post.
I just thought I would fill you all in on my newest favorite obsession, because well, I'm obsessed.

For Easter my mom ordered these for my sisters and me. I didn't use it for the first couple of weeks and I am so sad I missed out on those weeks by not using it. I use it every day, multiple times a day. I'm not a big soda drinker, I may have one every once in awhile, at most I'll have like 6 or 7 a year. So when I finally decided to go out and buy fruit, this water bottle changed my life. Only drinking water all the time gets really old really fast, so adding fruit makes it ten times better. And you can really add any kind of fruit you like. The picture above has lime, lemons, and kiwi in it. I've done just lemons, just lime, and just kiwi as well. But strawberry is my favorite.
I actually had to teach myself how to cut up all of this fruit. How embarrassing is that? Oh well.

I put like 7 or 8 pieces of fruit in there. And one of the best parts is after I use lemon in one I put it down the garbage disposal and run it with hot water to make the kitchen smell awesome.

You can find these on Amazon, or I think at Wal-Mart now.
Do any of you already use these? If so, what kind of fruit combinations are your favorite?

Please Tell Me Why Monday's Exist

I don't normally dread Mondays. I mean, I guess I do as much as the next person, but I really dread every day of the week that doesn't start with Friday or Saturday. So when Monday rolls around I just look at it as another day that I get to go to work/school. I cannot wait until I don't have to type the words "go to school" anymore. Seriously though, a Monday, Wednesday, Friday class for three hours from 2-5? Who made those up? And I digress...
As everyone was writing or still may be writing about the wonderful weekends they had, I decided I would write and tell you all about the fabulous Monday I experienced yesterday, from the time I woke up until the time I laid my head back down on that marvelous pillow to go to sleep. Prepare yourself for some TMI because that's how my morning started.

I woke up later than I wanted to, which happens a lot so whatever. After feeding Luke and taking him out for the 143214th time that morning, I decided I better shower and look halfway decent for the world. I have to keep the bathroom door open while I shower if I'm the only one at home because that way Luke isn't locked in the bathroom and if I lock him out I think he would have a panic attack and probably eat the carpet around the door. So after I started the shower I noticed that he wasn't upstairs running around or trying to get me to play rope while I'm standing there naked like he usually does. Seriously, who is raising this dog? Anyways, as soon as I noticed that I figured something must be wrong. So being the smart person I am, instead of wrapping myself in a towel like any normal person would do, I decided just to go downstairs naked and see what he was doing. Turns out he decided to poop, I mean have diarrhea, by the door. This wasn't any normal diarrhea either. It was two huge piles of it where he started one and continued to let it out while he walked a little ways and finished his business. After yelling at him and giving him the evilest stare I could muster up, I got to work cleaning it all up. This is the first time I had to puke while cleaning up his poop so that's also super cool. All while I'm naked. I can't even imagine having children.

I finally get to shower, but it had been running the entire time the poop fiasco was going on so by the time I actually got in the shower it was cold. Awesome. So I quickly showered. I mean quicker than I ever have because it was so stinking cold. After stepping out of the shower I grabbed my towel and thankfully looked down at it before putting it on my body because I swear to you, the largest spider ever was crawling on that bad boy. I may have screamed a tad bit, and shook it off, then killed it with one of Luke's toys that was sitting right outside of the shower. I never thought those things laying around every where would ever come in handy.

After all of that I went to eat lunch with my Mom, Grandma, and little cousin Aiden who's 10 months old. My mom decided I should feed him while they ate since I wasn't eating and let me tell you, it was a blast. Every thing I put in his mouth he would chew up and then spit out and laugh. Like I said, I can't imagine having children. I would probably go insane.

During class we get a 15 minute break which means I have to get some sort of junk food from the vending machine because duh, it's class which is stressful enough without some sort of chocolate or chips easing my pain. So I did my normal routine of getting a bag of chips and some cookies and while reaching into the vending machine, it pinched my arm. Instant swelling and purple/redness appeared. Like I looked like I had shut my arm in the car door or something. I wanted to cry. Instead I grabbed my chips and cookies and ate them in silence/embarrassment in class.

That night I got home and made dinner and Nick's softball game was cancelled so everything seemed like it would go fine the rest of the night. Wrong. We took the keg from Nick's party back to the store and on the way home I HAD to have a milkshake, just like every other night according to Nick. I got a larger size thinking that I could save some for tonight so I wouldn't have to bother Nick with my constant nagging about going to get one. Wrong. The second I picked it up the put it in the freezer, the bottom broke off and out came all of my milkshake onto the floor. Cool. Thankfully I have a dog who loves to clean up anything off the floor. Joking. Sort of. I did clean it all up but Luke still insisted on sitting in that spot for the next half hour licking at it like I hadn't cleaned at all.

Thankfully 10:30 rolled around and it was time for me to rest my eyes and go to sleep. Or so I thought. Luke had me up at 12:30 and again at 2:30 until about 3:15. So now it's time to go home and take a quick nap before it's time to go back to work tonight.

How was your Monday?

Girls Dinner

It is seriously so hard to get me and my girlfriends together, even if it's just for an hour. So when we plan dinner together I get super excited, since I live with Nick and he can only take so much celebrity gossip and girl talk. Every time we get together for dinner we usually go to a Mexican restaurant because margaritas, duh. But last night we chose a cute little Italian restaurant that's only been in our area for about a year now. I've been there before and I really liked it so I obviously said yes when Chelsea suggested we go.
I got the third picture which was shrimp, oysters, and shrimp broth over spaghetti. It was amazing. I wish I could have stopped in the middle so I had a lot of left over for today, but I have no self-control so that didn't happen. My friend Amanda had the meatballs, and yes, that's Nikki in the background comparing the meatballs to her boobs. Can you already see why I need girl time and not just "sit on the couch and watch Sports Center guy time"? Chelsea got the cannelloni and Nikki got something that I can't remember the name of and also didn't get a picture of because she was across the table from me and I'm lazy.

I, for once, am glad I don't like wine. I'll let you all take a moment to gasp and contemplate ever reading this here blog of mine again. But I've never been able to get my taste buds to be bffs with wine. Maybe one day. However, last night I was glad I'm not a wine drinker because they order a bottle of wine to split between the three of them and didn't realize how much it was until the bill came.

We were able to catch up on all of our relationship gossip between the four of us, Chelsea and I were able to catch up on all the wedding updates given to us by both brides to be, Nikki and Amanda, and we were also able to catch up on all other gossip in our lives. It sucks that we don't all live close together anymore, since Nikki and Amanda decided to move from where I'm living now to my hometown, which we never would have thought would ever happen. Jerks. I'm already looking forward to getting together with them again. Even if it's just for a few hours, it's nice to get away and just be with my friends. Not that I don't enjoy every second I spend with Nick and Luke, but sometimes I need someone who is actually interested in the nonsense I'm talking about rather than just acting interested.

Update on yesterdays post: When I got home Luke had destroyed both of my tennis shoes. So that's cool.

Our Crazy Busy Four Day Weekend

I ended up getting a four day weekend and it was wonderful. Except for waking up at 8:30 on Sunday morning to do homework. Whatever. Anyways, Thursday night Nick, Luke, and I left for Nick's parents houses up north. It's only a little less than a four hour drive, but it felt like an eternity because Luke is now too big to fit on my lap so he is constantly walking on my legs trying to get comfortable or driving Nick crazy while he drives. Friday morning we got up around 8 and got ready to go to the Brookfield Zoo. I had never been to that zoo and I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that we had to pay to park and go in to the zoo. I guess that's what happens when I'm spoiled by the free St. Louis Zoo. But, the zoo was a super nice place and it was fun because there were a lot of baby animals out and all the regular animals were pretty active. It was also a super nice day so that helped. Even though I had goosebumps most of the day while everyone else was dripping in sweat. I'm weird, I know.
Friday night we went to a German restaurant and since I had no idea what anything on the menu was, I got a side salad. Yes, I know, I need to step out of my comfort zone. But I'm not the only one. Nick got a cheeseburger and his sister got chicken strips. But I did try a little of his aunt's wienerschnitzel and it was pretty good. Saturday we just went to his mom's and hung out while Luke played with her three dogs and destroyed his crate, which I'll let him tell you all about tomorrow, and then we went up to the bar to watch the Hawks play. That was super not fun because the Hawks lost and they really need to stop doing that.

Sunday was Nick's sister's graduation from high school. She went to a private catholic school so the first hour and a half was a full mass. I had never been to a full mass and let me tell you, the shoes I wore were not full mass shoes. It was awful. No offense to anyone who is Catholic, but I just couldn't handle standing and sitting so much. If I would have had flats on it would have been ten times better. And if the gym we were sitting in with at least a couple hundred other people had air conditioning, I think it would have been 100x better. The last 20 minutes of the ceremony was the actual graduation stuff which was weird to me because I'm just use to going to a graduation ceremony and it being all about the graduation instead of a church service. After graduation was over we went back to Nick's dad's house and had a little cookout for Alli with all of their family. It was nice to be able to sit and relax with everyone because I enjoy just hanging out with his family a lot. It helps that they are all good cooks and all of the food was wonderful :). Luke also really enjoyed it and he was the perfect little angel I know he can be. #psychodogmom. He really was good though because we had him outside with us all day and he didn't try to run off once. He stayed in the yard with everyone and only got ahold of one bratwurst.

Uh yep, that's our dog in the background. Helping himself to my vodka and coke. So maybe he wasn't entirely perfect Sunday, but he is pretty darn close.
And after all the people had left and Nick and his dad went out, Luke and I got to unwind and do some more homework Sunday night. He passed out within five minutes of everyone leaving. And then woke up at 4:30 that night to puke two huge piles of puke. So you're welcome for that image. It was a lot of fun since Nick doesn't hear him get up and I do. Oh the joys of being a fur mom.

Monday was spent driving home from Nick's parents and then going to my parents for dinner and laundry. When I got home from there we got to watch the Hawks lose again, it's starting to get slightly annoying. And the Cardinals lost. I hate when both of my teams lose. Anyways, and it was an early bed time for all of us. Going back to the real world is really no fun sometimes.

However, I did make sure to take a minute, which I need to do all the time, to really think about the reason I was able to escape reality for a few days. So thank you to all of our men and women who have been and continue to be, fighting for our country and our freedom. There are no words to thank you and I don't think I could thank you enough for all that you and your family do for this country. It is amazing to be able to live with all of the freedoms that we have and I know that you guys are the reason for it, so once again, thank you so so so much for all of the sacrifices you have made and continue to make on a daily basis.

Like I said earlier, look for a post brought to you by Lucas himself tomorrow on his adventures with his metal crate. That was a lot of fun this weekend.
