I've Learned Some Things and Other Confessions

This week I've learned quite a bit and it's only Wednesday. So I'm linking up for Hump Day Confessions to confess to everyone what I've learned and other nonsense on my mind this past week.

I confess...

..that on Monday I learned I need to slow my driving down, because after losing control of my car and spinning into a ditch I don't want to experience that again

..that on Monday I also learned how fast everything can be taken away from someone. I was lucky enough that neither Luke or I were hurt when my car spun out of control, but it could have easily gone a totally different way.

..that before Monday I had doubt in the human race. Working as a server you don't meet a whole lot of nice people. But Monday the amount of people who stopped and asked if we were alright was amazing to me. And the amount of people who stayed until the cops showed up to make sure everything was going to be okay stunned me. I never thought people were that nice, but my faith in humanity was definitely restored that day.

..that since Monday I have had nightmares about it every time I close my eyes. I'm not sure if it's because I had Luke in the car with me or what but I can't seem to fall asleep without having a nightmare that it all goes a totally different way.

..that I started working out two weeks ago and after three times, I stopped. I started again yesterday so we will see how long this lasts. Why does getting my butt to the gym for just a half hour have to be so hard?!?

..that I have the hardest time eating healthy. With all the temptations at work and how easy fast food is, it just gets to me. I have to stop making so many excuses and just go out and buy the healthy stuff. Ughh..

..that I've watched way too much Grey's. Actually, is that even a thing? Too much Grey's Anatomy?

And that's that for these confessions. Since I bored all of you with everything about Monday I'll give you a break and send you on your way. I also need to get back to watching Grey's Anatomy. You all have a great Wednesday. I know I will, until 3:30. Then I have to go to work and we all know how I feel about Wednesdays at Texas Roadhouse...

My Faves/Not Faves From the SAGs

So, um, obviously I'm like this huge fashionista and whatnot. Which means my opinion on these dresses from the SAGs last night really matter. And I'm sure you are all going to take them to heart and really agree with me. Whatever. However, I will say that a lot of the speeches last night were adorable and amazing and these people make me giggle because they are always in the public eye but the second they have to give an acceptance speech they get super nervous and it reminds me that they're just like us. But with more money, and they're more beautiful, and they can do whatever they want whenever they want.

Here are five of my favorite dresses from last night.

And here are four of my least favorite. I thought I saved five pictures but I didn't, so I will just add that although Ariel Winters or whatever Alex from Modern Family's real name is, looked awesome I just feel like she's too young to have her boobs out the way she did. But that's just the dog mom in me because I wouldn't want Luke putting his boobs out there like that.

How to be an Awful Blogger

Start by writing five million posts saying you'll do better, you'll write more, you'll make better posts. Then after you do that, post a few more times. And then the last step? Don't post again for weeks, or in my case, months. It's really not that hard, which for me is the best thing in life. I like easy, I like uncomplicated. I need to learn how to make a schedule a habit and stick to it. I'm 23, maybe by the time I'm 33 it'll happen. Probably not though. So per the usual, here is what I've been up to while I haven't been posting for you guys.

And, because I'm such a great blogger, I decided to share some awesome posts by some ladies who know how to do this whole blogging thing wayyyyy better than I do. After you're done checking them out, head over to All the Joys to link up for Blog Love v.25!

I'm Lovin It - Eat Drink & Be Mary. Seriously, those hot chocolate cookies need to be made like yesterday at my house.

We Threw a Bridal Shower

In March my cousin Courtney is getting married and she asked me to be a part of her big day. She lives all the way in Ohio (really only like 6.5 hours away but it feels like a far away place) and all of her family lives back here in Illinois. Both this side of the family and her mom's side of the family live around here so naturally it made sense to have a bridal shower here for everyone to get to experience this wonderful time with her. So this past weekend me, my aunts, and my cousins all threw her a bridal shower. Two of our cousins from Cali even flew in for it because one of them is in the wedding as well. It was a lot of fun doing all of the decorations and getting everything together. Stressful at times, but still fun. You can't get much better than the Robinson crew and I really do love hanging out with all of them. I figured I would share all of the decorations and food that were made for this pink and silver event. Everything except for the cupcakes were made by my family. Even the little toppers in the cupcakes were made by me.

Some Goals for 2015

I'm a day late, but hey it's better than not blogging at all right? As I'm sitting here trying to figure out what type of goals I want to set for myself in 2015 all of the cliches come to mind. Work out more, eat better, relax more, etc. And while all of those are true, there are some other goals I really would like to achieve this year. It's only day two of the year so I thought that posting resolutions or goals is still appropriate.

1. Start, continue, and finish the photo a day all year. I saw quite a few people do this throughout 2014 and I thought it was the neatest (does anyone still say that word?) idea. So of course yesterday I started off with a selfie because duh.

2. Take Luke for more walks. I really try to take him on a walk a lot but sometimes the days just get past us and other times we don't (I don't) feel like doing anything so it just doesn't happen. But I really need to remember that he needs exercise, especially being locked in the apartment all day.

3. Cook more. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to cooking, so if anyone has any awesome recipes they want to share then go right ahead with it. I really need to start doing more of this because Nick and I eat way too much fast food. It's hard working every night but I'm sure I can come up with something.

4. Be healthier. I know, this is a cliche but it's true. Like I said above, I eat fast food way too much. And if I'm not eating fast food I'm eating food at work, or going out to eat. It's awful. I need to start eating better for me foods, I need to start working out more, I need to start getting more sleep, I need to stop stressing about things so much. It's all a bad habit I need to break.

5. Get a big girl job. Hopefully this one happens in the next few months because I would really like a steady income. And a day time job. And a place that doesn't send me home smelling like food when I'm off.

6. Read more. I use to read all the time but the past couple years I've stopped. I don't really know why but I want to start reading more. So if you guys have any book recommendations, throw um my way!

7. Grow my blog more. This is a big one. This blog has been out there for like 3 years or something and it's really gone no where. I want to learn how to participate in the world of blogging more, I want to learn better HTML and how to make this place look amazing. I want to learn how to do photoshop and all that jazz. I need more hours in the day.

8. More DIY. Because what blogger doesn't love DIYing. But really, on my budget I really should be DIYing more than buying things outright. So we will see where this goes.

9. Relax more and love myself more. I really need to work on this. I always try and focus on keeping others happy and while other people being happy makes me happy, sometimes I need to just stop and make sure what's going on is making me happy too. It is hard sometimes but I really need to start living for me. I have to start realizing that by making myself happy, that others around me will be happy too, if they love me.

I'm sure there's more. And I'm sure I will come up with more throughout the year. But this is a start I guess. What are your resolutions/goals?

New Years Resolution: Blog More

I know I say this way too much but I really do want to start blogging more. I don't understand why I don't take the time every day or every other day to just get a quick post out there. I don't understand why I don't take the time to do a lot of things every day but that's a whole other post. Oh, there's an idea already. Anyway, like I was saying, I should really just take the little bit of time out of my day to write a post or two. It's not like I'm doing anything right now. I graduated a few weeks ago (finally) so all I'm doing is working at Texas Roadhouse. And that's only at night. So hopefully I can kick myself into shape with this blog thing. It's only been like three years that I've had it, you would think it would be this amazing thing by now. But alas, I procrastinate and quit things and restart them way too many times. I also want to start going to the gym again. Or just start going in general because we all know I've been to a gym about once or twice in my life. Hey, there's another post idea. Maybe I should just put some thought into this kind of stuff and it wouldn't seem so difficult.

Because I keep getting distracted by Luke and my mind keeps wandering to the bath I'm about to take with this bath bomb my sister got me (I've heard they're all the rage right now) I'm going to cut this intro post short and just post pictures from the past couple of weeks. But welcome 2015, I hope you have a lot of exciting things in store for me! And I hope it has some amazing things in store for all of you!!
